A woman (Louise Allbritton) with an unhealthy interest in the supernatural invites Count Alucard (Lon Chaney Jr) to stay and her plans to become a vampire causes problems for family and friends. This is a curious variation on the dracula theme as Louise Allbritton wants to be imortal with her lover (Robert Paige) and kill off the count once they are both immortal vampires. Louise Allbritton is good in the main role, but Lon CHaney Jr is not really convincing as a vampire. Evelyn Ankers has only a small role. Whilst there are some nice shots using shadows and doors, the bat effect is very poor.
