A plastic surgeon (Paul Henreid) has an affair with a pianist (Lizabeth Scott) and when she leaves him he operates on prisoner to change her face to match the pianist. He marries the prisoner, but despite her now living with a wealthy man she returns to her old ways of stealing and old associates. Further complications occur when the pianist returns into their lives. This is an enteratining mix of thriller and romance.
