A wealthy playright (Joan Crawford) has a whirlwind romance with an actor (Jack Palance) and they marry. However she then discovers that her husband and his lover (Gloria Grahame) plan to kill her for her money. This is a very good drama as the suspense builds when Joan Crawford has to find a way to survive. Iit is her performance that makes the film and one for which she received an Oscar nomination.
