Fred Astaire wants to marry his girlfriend, but needs money, so he goes to New York where he meets Ginger Rogers. This was the first Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers musical and also Ginger Rogers first dance musical. What they created was a classic film and a style for 1930s dance musicals as well as some classic dance routines.
