A family are shippwrecked on a remote tropical island where they build a magnificent tree house, fight off wild animals and battle pirates. This is a good Disney production of the classic family story, that is beautifully filmed, if a bit sickly in places, but it does have good performances from all the cast. The film is based on the novel by Johann Wyss.
