A young woman (Doris Day) with a trust fund is offered the lead role in a musical if she can fund it. However as the this happens in the middle of the 1929 crash, so in an attempt to raise the money she bets her uncle that she will say no to every question for 48 hours. Like most musicals, the plot is silly, and even though the songs are not the best, Doris Day singing and dancing her way through this makes it an entertaining film.
