The first half of the film is Moses and the Ten Commandments and the second half a moral tale of breaking the ten Commandments. The first half is a lavish epic retelling of Moses, the Exodus and the Ten Commandments that was made using sets of a legendary scale. The second half is the staory of a family torn apart when one of a pair of brothers decides to live his life by breaking every one of the Ten Commandments. This part of the plot is not very subtle in its morality but the production quality from DeMille is very good.
