Comment/Synopsis

The story of Moses leading the Israelites out of Egypt as done on an epic scale by Hollywood and Cecile B DeMille, especially the scene where Charlton Heston parts the Red Sea. This was Cecile B DeMille's final film and he did it on a hugh scale. One of the sets is reputed to be the largest ever built. It was filmed in wide screen and Technicolor which makes it visually impressive if not entirely accurate in places. It has a strong ensemble cast that carries a slightly bloated script as it runs to over three and a half hours.
