A young man (Farley Granger) escapes from prison with the help of two hardened criminals. They persuade him to join in a bank job in which he is injured. he is nursed by the equally innocent Cathy O'Donnell. Together they go on the run trying to keep one step ahead of both the police and the gang who want to drag them back into crime. This is more of a romance between two innocent youngsters than a crime thriller. There are good performances from both Cathy O'Donnell and Farley Granger.
