The girlfriend (Fay Wray) of a notorious criminal (George Bancroft) wants to leave him for another man (Richard Arlen). She helps the police arrest him and he is imprisoned awaiting the death penalty. Whilst there he gets the other man wrongfuly convicted and they end up on the same death row. The first half is quick paced with action and the relatiionships developing and the second by contrast is set in the death row cells. The film revolves primary around George Bancroft with an early performance from Fay Wray mainly in the first half of the film.
