The mayor of a small town (Irene Dunne) goes to New York to get a sculpter (Charles Boyer) to come and replace the statue of her dead husband who was previously the mayor. Whilst there she gets into trouble by accident with the police and when he comes back to the town her daughter (Mona Freeman) has an infatuation with him that leads to all sorts of complications. This is a light comedy, with a good performance from Irene Dunne as the uptight mayor and good support from Mona Freeman as her headstrong daughter.
