An engineer (Richard Dix) oversees the building of a tunnel under the Atlantic ocean. Over the years it takes to build, he has to cope with his financial backers trying to raise the money to build it, including a beautiful woman (Helen Vinson) and the strain it puts on his marriage (Madge Evans) and relationship with his son (Jimmy Hanley) and fellow engineer (Leslie Banks). For a film from 1935 this has some nice touches of what life could be like in the future as well as touching on the human costs of such a project.
