Sherlock Holms investigates a locked room murder mystery that has links back gangs in America and the background is recounted as a flashback told by the dead man's wife (Jane Carr). The film is based on the novel The Valley Of Fear and is one of a series featuring Arthur Wontner as Sherlock Holmes. There is support from Ian Fleming as Dr Watson.
