Comment/Synopsis

In a remote village the inhabitants are being killed off by having their blood drained via two puncture wounds over the jugular vein. The villagers suspect vampires but the local scientist (Lionel Atwill) and policeman (Melvyn Douglas) suspect that there is foul play about. This is a typical vampire horror film in which the best performance is from Dwight Frye as the simpleton who likes bats and is the prime suspect of the villagers. Fay Wray was billed as top star to attract audiences but has a comparatively small part and her talents are under untilised.
