An isolated 19th century village that is surrounded by woods has an uneasy peace with the creatures that live in the woods and isolate the village from the rest of the world. One day this truce is broken and the village must make contact with the outside world. Good psychological horror that is about living with fear and its effects on a community, rather than blood and gore. There is a good performance as a blind girl from Bryce Dallas Howard that outshines the more well known names, in this film written and directed by M Night Shyamalan.
