Comment
Richard Burton is a university professor who is married to Elizabeth Taylor whose father runs the university. They have a torrid relationship that is marked by verbal sparring. They invite the new young academic George Segal and Sandy Dennis back their rooms after a social. As the evening progresses and the alcoholm flows the young couple get caught up into Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor's agressive verbal sparing. This film showed off Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor's talents at their best and they are well supported by George Segal and Sandy Dennis in this film version of Edward Albee's play. This was Mike Nichols first film which he chose to fim in black and white.
