A young widowed lawyer is sent to a remote village to sort out the affairs of a recently deceased woman who lived in a large remote house. he meets a friendly man on the train but gets a frosty welcome from the locals. As he starts to examine the woman's paperwork he starts having viisions of a dead woamn and the children of the locals are dying in accidents. This is an adaptation of a modern Gothic horror novel and is a variation on the long running London stage play.
