A night club entertainer (Danny Kaye) who is a witness to a murder is then himself murdered. He comes back as a ghost and persuades his identical looking, but very different character, twin brother to get the killers into jail. The dead brother is in love with one of the club dancers (Vera-Ellen) and the other brother is in love with a librarian (Virginia Mayo). Danny Kaye is good as the ghost and there are good supporting performances from Virginia Mayo and Vera-Ellen.
