The success of this led him to Hollywood and Blind Fury about a blind war veteran in a violent thriller. After this he had a bigger budget with Patriot Games. Clear And Present Danger was the third Jack Ryan character films. The Saint was based on the 1960 television series, though was not very successful. The Bone Collector was a police thriller with paraplegic Denzel Washington instructing Angelia Jolie on how to solve a serial killer. With this film he was feeling more constrained by the Hollywood studio so he returned to Australia and Rabbit Proof Fence. The Quiet American was an adaptation of the Graham Greene novel. Catch A Fire was based on a true story set in South Africa under apartheid. Salt is a spy thriller, with non-stop action. The Giver is a science fiction film that is a mix of dystopia and thriller.
