An unmarried English school teacher (Fay Compton) goes on holiday with a friend of hers to Austria where she falls in love with the owner (Ivor Novello) of the hotel where they are staying. It is about a class of people with differening view, hers about love and marriage and him happy to have a wife and lover. This is set against a back drop of couples representing the changes social attitudes stuffy social norms to an unmarried couple sharing a room together. There is a good performance from Fay Comptom finding and losing love for the first time. This was Ivor Novello's last film.
