The owner of a large country house is murdered during a fancy dress party and a novelist (Charls Starrett) helps the police track down the killer. This is a run of the mill country house murder mystery that is very static and wordy. There is a good performance from Shirley Grey as the grand daughter who wants to marry someone the family considers unsuitable.
