During World War 2, a British married nurse starts an affair with an American pilot. The relationship starts to affect his attitude to life and eventually he ends up in occupied France with her husband who is a secret agent. The film is caught between being a romance against a background of war and a war film with a romantic backdrop, leaving it somewhere lost between the two. .
