From action to romantic lead, Harrison Ford was a major star in the1980's and 1990's including the Star Wars and Indiana Jones series of films.
His first credited screen role was in A Time For Killing in 1967. He then worked on television and as a carpenter until his break through role in American Graffiti when he met George Lucas. In 1974 he worked with Frances Ford Coppola in The Conversation. This was followed up with his role as Hans Solo in the first Star Wars Film. This was followed by several war films and then the comedy The Frisco Kid. This was followed by the second Star Wars film in 1980. He became a major solo star in the Spielberg/Lucas Raiders Of The Lost Ark.
The sci-fi thriller Blade Runner has since become a classic cult film. The witness was a very different style of film showing a clash of cultures and cenmented his reputation as an actor and not just an action hero. In Working Girl he shows his comic side in this stylish romantic comedy. In Air Force One he is the president of the USA as well as the action hero. What Lies Beneath is very different as a supernatural thriller where he is not the hero. His later career was a mix of drama, comedy and revival of previous roles.
