Comment
This film records a day in the life of three women each planning a party. Virginia Woolfe (Nicole Kidman) writing the novel Mrs Dalloway, a pregnant woman (Julianne Moore) in 1950's America reading the book and a lesbian (Meryl Streep) in 1990's America living out the book. This is a sombre film as the three women try and deal with the problems of their lives, suicide and the priority of looking after oneself or your loved ones. This film is about the characters and the dialogue, rather than action and plot, and the three main leads each give very good performances bringing to life their respective characters. The highlight of the production side of the film is when the hotel room floods as Julianne Moore contemplates suicide.
