Comment/Synopsis

An astronomer (Richard Carlson) and his girlfriend (Barbara Rush) see a meteor land in the desert but when they go to investigate he discovers that it is actually an alien spacecraft. However it is suddenly buried by a landslide and no one believes him, until strange things start happening to some of the locals, who diasappear and then reappear as zombie like people. This is a low budget sci-fi B-movie and an early one set in a desert. It is also unusual in that the aliens have not arrived to invade, but just to have a temporary stop over to repair their space ship. Unusually for films of this style at this time some scenes are filmed from the point of view of te alien. The plot is based on an idea by writer Ray Bradbury.
