During the third crusade, King Richard heads up a Christian army from various countries against the army of Saladin. However he is beset by people trying to usurp his power as well as dealing with Saladin and defending the honour a woman. This is slow, wordy and uninspiring version of the Crusade story. Virgiinia Mayo brings elegance to her role, but, like the other characters they are too bland for even good actors to do something with.
