An elderly couple who resist change in their town will do anything to stop the gas lamp outside their house being replaced by an electric lamp. Francis Matthews is the leader of the council pushing through the changes and the subjcet of assorted attempts on his life. Meanwhile he pretends to be someone else and romances Lisa Daniely who is on the committee to save the lamp. This is light British drama with a romantic element but is now very dated.
