Comment
A group of seemingly unconnected people deal with relationships and emotions in the run up to mother's day in this ensemble comedy. There is a good cast, but the problem with the films is that there are almost too many characters and plot lines with means that none of them are properly developed. The best performance is from Jennifer Aniston as the divorced woman whose husband marries a younger woman (Shay Mitchell). Julia Roberts character is very flat the the successful woman who gave up her baby daughter at birth but who now finds her (Britt Robertson). It is in the same style as Valentines Day and New Years Eve, though this is much worse. The best dialogue relates to send ups of earlier Julia Roberts films. Overall disappointing, given the cast.
