A group of Victorian archeologists discover the tomb of Princess Ananka and accidentally revive the mummy of her high priest. The mummy returns three years later to kill off those who had violated her tomb. This is a good early Hammer film with solid performances from both Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee. Compared with later Hammer films this concentrates on plot rather than sex which sets it above most of the Hammer films. There is good support from Yvonne Furneaux as the princess. This is best of the Hammer mummy films.
