A man (Raymond Griffith) will inherit 1 miilion dollars if he marries his dead uncle's ward (Vera Reynolds). When they meet she thinks he just wants to marry her for the money but he does fall in love with her. To try and convince her he does love her, he offers to give her the money, but she can only inhert if he dies leading to various comic situations. The film is a mix of romantic comedy and farce, with an unusual car chase with the car going backwards down hill.
