Rene Zellweger is a waitress in a small town who fantasises about a doctor in a TV soap. When her husband is killed by Morgan Freeman because he has stolen drugs, she loses touch with reality and goes in search of the television doctor thinking that he is real. The murderers follow her to get back their drugs, which are in the boot of her car.
