After two years in the arctic and man goes to an island to return a diary to a man only to find the man had been hanged for muder but he was the man's alibi. The film is based on the Agatha Christie novel but despite a good cast is not a good adaptation of the novel. Part of the problem is the way the film is produced, which seems to have been an attempt to turn itinto some sort of film-noir style film but it does not really succeed. The sound track was by Dave Brubeck which is interesting but does not really fit the style of the film.
