At the end of World War 1, a man with no memory of who he is, is befriended by a singer, they fall in love and marry. He then has an accident and remembers who he was originally but forgets his life with the woman he has married. She then gets a job as his secretary, but he does not recognise her. They then get married , but both still have memories of what they had originally. The plot is very bizzare and not really convincing but it shows a love from Greer Garson that withstands all the strange events of her life. It is considered one of the most romantic films made and was the only film for which Mervyn LeRoy got a Best Director Oscar nomination.
