The story of a butler (Anthony Hopkins) in a 1930's country house as told in flashbacks as years later he sets out to meet the housekeeper (Emma THompson) again. Wonderful production detail of the period as expected from a Merchant/Ivory production. Good performances from Anthony Hopkins and Emma Thompson.
