A young woman is about to be executed and recounts how she got to this position in a series of flashbacks in parallel with one of the men involved telling part of the story to the wife of one of the other men involved. The story line encompasses murder, suicide, corruption, rape, as well as the death penalty. This is a good film from the early 1930's and deals well with these themes, with a solid performance from Zita Johann.
