A plane crashes in the jungle killing the parents of a baby which is found and taken in by Tarzan (Johnny Weissmuller) and Jane (Maureen O'Sullivan). Five years later a seach party appears to rescue the boy but they are more interested in his large inheritance than the boy himself.
