A young cavalry officer is sent toa remote fort under the command of a hardened soldier. As well as fighting the indians they also have to deal with their history, people's attitudes and their love life. This is a typical western form the early 1960's with good performanes from Richard Boone and George Hamilton, but is let down by the stereotypes and some uninspiring dialogue.
