Glenn Close has been a popular actress over a 40 year period during which time she has given some good performances, notably in Fatal Attraction and in Dangerous Liaisons as well as 8 Oscar nominations. Her early career was in the theatre and she was a star on Broadway before she appeared in films. Her first film role was in The World According To Garp and her next film was The Big Chill. She was nominated for the Best Supporting Actress in both films. The natural is about an aging baseball player and she had another Best Supporting Actress Oscar nomination. This was an impressive start to her film career. Jagged Edge is a courtroom thriller where as a lawyer she has an affair with her client. Fatal Attraction was a big film that became infamous at the time for her creepy performance as the obsessive, slightly psychotic woman. Dangerous Liaisons was a different style, being a lavish historical drama and gave her her first Best Actress Oscar nomination. In Reversal Of Fortune, she plays the role by showing her life in flashbacks from being in coma and is based on a real life story. The Paper was a comedy set in major newspaper office. 101 Dalmatians was a live action version of the story with a great comic performance as Cruella DeVil. Her role in Stepford Wives was very different being much more restrained, but comic in a different way. Albert Nobbs was a very different role where she play a woman who poses as a man to get a job as a butler in 19th century Ireland. Crooked House is an adaptation of the Agatha Christie novel.
