A woman who makes hats for a woman in Moscow has an admirer but she falls for an unemployed student who she marries to help him stay in the room that she supposedly lives in in Moscow but who actually lives in a small village. This was made as a propaganda film but is also an entertaining light romance and a slice of life in 1920's Moscow. It is one of the best performances from Anna Sten, made before she moved to Hollywood.
