Gregory La Cava started his directorial career in silent films but he is better known for his sound films in the 1930's and 1940's. He worked with some of the top actors of the period (Ginger Rogers, Katharine Hepburn, Carole Lombard, CLaudette Colbert, Constance Bennett, Helen Hayes).
